Trachycarpus |
Trachycarpus are an extremely hardy genus of nine species originating in Northeast Asia. Most have a medium dark green fan leaf with an attractive and very graphic hairy brown trunk. The Trachycarpus genus is extremely slow growing but most can handle climate extremes and in some cases even frost and snow once established. Trachycarpus may be used in gardens and parks, in multiple formal or singular specimen plantings, or clumped with other tropical or rainforest species for a more intimate design. |
